Feed and Forage Analysis - Diet Formulation - On Farm Advice - NIR Calibrations
What is the Bioparametrics Analysis System?
The Bioparametrics analysis system provides nutritionists and farmers with an in-depth knowledge of the nutritional value and rate of degradation of any forage or feed fed to ruminants.
Using a technique known as invitro gas production (IVGPT), the fermentation of feeds in the rumen can be continuously measured over time, allowing us to measure not only the level of quickly and slowly fermentable carbohydrate and protein but also their respective rates (see below).
Combined with normal analytical values (DM, CP, NDF, Oil, Ash, sugar etc.) these unique degradation parameters are used to formulate diets using software called Biopara-Milk. This software incorporates models which simulate the entire ruminant digestive system, measuring diet performance and digestion every six minutes, 24 hours a day.
The Bioparameterics Analysis System has been successfully used on dairy farms throughout the UK and been proven to predict DMI to +/- 0.5kgDM/day, giving farmers the confidence to feed cows like never before, maximising both genetic potential and farm income!

Exotic Forage and Feed Analysis
For forages and feeds for which no NIR equations have yet been developed we provide an analysis service involving direct proximate measurements (DM, CP, Ash, NDF, Oil) and IVGPT to estimate the rate of carbohydrate and protein fermentation in the rumen.
